No Basketball games will be played on Monday, February 8

Just to eliminate any confusion, the Augusta County Parks and Recrecation dictates whether or not we can have games....typically they let us know on a day to day basis on what we can do...the general rule is that if schools are cancelled then our games are cancelled regardless of what the High School does with their activities....however in some cases they do let us go ahead and have games...if they do allow it we let our coaches know asap so the message can be relayed to you all...So once again if school is cancelled games are cancelled unless you hear otherwise...also check us out on facebook for updates...

Signups for Baseball and Softball will be held jointly with Barren Ridge and New Hope/Weyers Cave on the following dates:

Friday, February 12 6-8 p.m.

Saturday, February 1310 am-12 noon

Friday, February 19 6-8 p.m.

Saturday, February 20 10 am-12 noon

Signups will be held at Verona Elementary School.  Cost is $60 per child.

T-ball ages 4-6                Softball 6u

Rookie ages 7-8              Softball 8u

Minors 9-10                    Softball 10u

Majors 11-12                  Softball 12u

Babe Ruth ages 13+         Softball 14u

Did you know that VCA is run entirely by volunteers?  Without parents and volunteers, we cannot provide the athletic programs for the children of our community.  We are accepting members for the upcoming year.  Please come to our next meeting, the second Thursday of every month, at 7:30 p.m. or call Larry Curry at 280-1404 for a membership application.  Membership costs $5 per year and is open to anyone residing in the Fort Defiance High School area. 

Did you know that VCA is the only program in the area that provides basketball, baseball, softball, football, and cheerleading?  Help us maintain these quality programs by becoming involved in the organization.

The Verona Community Association, Inc. (VCA) is a non-stock, non-profit corporation that was formed for the purpose of conducting the business relative to providing an organization to teach the fundamentals of various sports activities and to promote an athletic and social environment which would allow the children of the community to gather for mutual benefit and enjoyment.

            Those persons who reside in the attendance boundaries of Fort Defiance High School are eligible for membership in the corporation.

            The officers and directors are elected by a majority vote of the members and consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and nine (9) At-Large Board Members.

            The Association meets at 7:30 P.M. on the 2^nd Thursday of each month at Verona Elementary School in the Cafeteria.

             Presently, we sponsor five (5) major sports, activities… Football, Cheerleaders, Basketball, Baseball, and Girls Softball.
